A V-SMOW vs. V-PDB correction of ?0.20? was applied, consistent with the correction factor common at time of publication of the Shackleton equation (see Bemis et al., 1998). Based on an analytical error of i¿½0.06? for ?18Oc and a combined analytical and calibration error of i¿½1 i¿½C for T (Mg/Ca), the uncertainty for reconstructed ?18Ow is estimated as i¿½0.26?.
